The devotees can contribute towards the decoration of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple as a symbol of offering reverence to Lord Shiva. The month of Shrawan (by Hindu calendar) is highly auspicious for the devotees and the idols of every member of Lord Shiva's family are decorated. Special decoration is done on every Monday of this month. On the first Monday Lord Shiva's decoration is done, on the second Monday Lord Shankar and mother Parvati's statues are decorated, on the third and fourth Monday, the decoration of Shri Ardhyanarishwar and Shri Rudrakshay is done. Special 'Jhoola Shringar' is also performed.
